Sensory Film Screenings: Odeon 5 Cinema x The Different Society

This school holidays, Odeon 5 Cinema is proud to partner with The Different Society to bring something truly special to our screens: a series of sensory-friendly film screenings designed for children who experience the world a little differently.

Across three magical dates in April, we'll be screening the following films, in an environment where difference is expected, understood, and genuinely welcomed:

  • Tuesday April 7th - Goat (PG) at 10:45am
  • Tuesday April 14th - The Magic Faraway Tree (G) at 10:45am
  • Saturday April 18th - Hoppers (PG) at 10:45am

What makes these screenings different:

For many families, the cinema has always felt just out of reach. The unspoken rules, sit still, stay quiet, don't disrupt - can make what should be a joyful experience feel impossible. These sessions throw that rulebook out entirely.

Children are free to move around the space, vocalise, laugh, call out, stim in ways that help them feel regulated, and come and go as they need. There is no pressure to experience the film in any particular way. These sessions are intentionally and thoughtfully different.

What families can look forward to

A relaxed, judgement-free atmosphere where every child belongs. Flexible entry and exit throughout the screening. A space that moves and breathes with the needs of the children in it. And yes, it might be loud, it might be energetic, and it will almost certainly be joyful.

For some of these children, this will be their very first time in a cinema. For others, it's a long-awaited chance to return to something that has never quite felt accessible until now.

Either way, we're making room. And we can't wait to welcome you through our doors.
